SUMMARY:Real Local RVA's 5th Annual Farm Tour
DESCRIPTION:Real Local RVA is excited to host its 5th Annual Farm Tour\, and spend a day with our local food community! We would like to thank our sponsors – without them this event would not be possible. Please support all of these organizations\, they are doing amazing work! Many thanks to: \n\nFoodshed Capital\nEllwood Thompson’s\nC&F Bank\nCapital Region Land Conservancy\nHandyma’am Goods\n\nThe tour will be held at Charlotte Acres in Mechanicsville\, VA. Charlotte Acres is the home to three separate minority owned farms\, Shine Farms\, Real Roots Food Systems and Hazel Witch Farm.  Grab your tickets today! Ticket prices go up September 3rd! \nGuests will receive a tour of each farm and learn about their growing practices and business models. After the tour guests will enjoy locally sourced food with ingredients from the farms provided by Leek & Thistle and music from local singer/songwriter Rachel Leyco. We’re honored to host this yearly celebration of local farms and food! \nThis will be a casual event and allow for plenty of social distancing. NO alcohol will be served at the event\, but we will have plenty of non-alcoholic drink options available. **Please read dinner options carefully**  We ask that guests please bring their own chairs and picnic blankets for seating after the tour. \nWe ask guests to please remember this is a working farm and you are a visitor on the farm land. Guests are also reminded to dress appropriately for touring a farm. Closed toed shoes are required. Other suggested clothing/items to bring depending on the weather include: long pants\, sun hat\, sunscreen and bug spray. \nGuests are asked to park at Fairmount Christian Church located at: 6502 Creighton Rd\, Mechanicsville\, VA 23111. Guests will then be transported across the street to the farm. Many thanks to the staff at Fairmount for all their assistance! \nReal Local RVA takes the health and safety of our community seriously. Covid protocols will be released as we get closer to the event. This is a weather dependent event. Tickets are refundable up to 1 week prior to the event minus Eventbrite fees.
